NSCN-IM cadre killed in Arunachal encounter

In the ensuing encounter between the force and the rebels, one cadre was killed, police said.The militant has been identified as a captain of the outfit, sources said, adding that the body has been handed over to police. Two AK-56 assault rifles, one Lathod launcher and a large quantity of ammunitions were seized from the site of the encounter. The cadre has been identified as Laingen Wangpan (22), a lance corporal of the outfit, SP Jitender Kumar Meena said.Three pistols, a large number of live ammunitions, opium and cash were recovered from his possession, the SP added. The security forces have launched a massive search operation in search of other militants, the sources added.Meanwhile, in another operation by the Khonsa Battalion, a cadre of the NSCN (Khaplang) was apprehended from the Chasa village in Tirap district on Thursday morning. ITANAGAR: A National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muivah) cadre was killed in an encounter with security forces in Arunachal Pradesh’s Longding district on Thursday morning, police said.The Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles had received information about the movement of a group of cadres of the outfit and launched an operation near Longkai Village in the district around 8am on Thursday.
