BENGALURU: An Indore-based NGO will conduct a Nirbhaya bicycle ride in Bengaluru and many other cities across the country on December 16, the seventh anniversary of the brutal rape and murder of the 23-year-old girl in New Delhi.The ride aims to create awareness about women’s safety, self-defence, and take the pledge — I’m the Defender — at the end of the rally. The participants can share their thoughts through poems or speeches.Dr Divya Gupta, of NGO Jwala , which is set to host the event along with cycling groups, said they have trained 1 lakh women in self- defence in the past six years.In Bengaluru, the ride starts at Cubbon Park band stand and runs through Kasturba Road, Queen’s Road, Raj Bhavan Road, Dr Ambedkar Veedhi, KR Circle, Nrupathunga Road, Corporation Circle, Kasturba Road, UB City Junction and concludes at Cubbon Park.
