* Counting of votes in the 40-seat Mizoram Assembly polls commenced on Tuesday amid heavy security, a poll official said. * Mizoram is the only remaining state in the North-East, which is not under the rule of BJP-led NDA. * Chief Electoral Officer Ashish Kundra said that under a three-tier security cover counting has begun in 40 counting halls in 13 centres across the mountainous state. * At the moment, Congress is banking on the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), a conglomerate of six regional parties, cashing in on any anti-incumbency that may arise, instead of MNF. The eight North-East states together have 25 Lok Sabha seats.
