Staff Reporter GUWAHATI: Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu on Sunday launched Electors Verification Programme (EVP) in a campaign mode. The programme is to continue till October 15, 2019. The objectives of the programme, according to the deputy commissioner, are (i) to verify electors details and indicate corrections in details, including photograph, and enter authentic entry when required, (ii) to obtain details of family members and verifying their entries, removal of entries of shifted and dead electors, enrollment of unenrolled citizens and to obtain details of prospective electors in family, (iii) to obtain contract details/GIS coordinates (with smart phones) to provide better electoral services, (iv) to obtain inputs about existing/probable polling stations, (v) to improve health of electoral roll by removal of DSE and error and (vi) to improve delivery of electorl services. According to the deputy commissioner, help centres will be set up in all the five revenue circle offices in the metropolitan district. He opened one such help centre at his office on Sunday.
