ABVP takes to streets backing Citizenship Amendment Bill in Guwahati
| Sunday | 8th December, 2019
Staff ReporterGUWAHATI: Guwahati denizens heard slogans of a different note on Saturday when members of the ABVP (Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad) took out a procession, seeking support for the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill (CAB).
The ABVP took out the procession from Guwahati Club Rotary via Dr. B. Barooah Road and GS Road.
The students demanded that the CAB is their right and the Bill should get its passage in the Parliament.
We appeal to the students to support the Bill so as to make people understand that the Bill is a national level one, not just in Assam.
However, police and paramilitary personnel on duty in the entrance of B. Barooah College did not allow them to come out of their college campus.
