GUWAHATI: In a move to inculcate scientific temperament among the students, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated Atal Tinkering Lab at Sanskriti the Gurukul here on Wednesday. Atal Tinkering Lab is an approach of the Central Government to create an environment of innovation, creativity amongst the students. The Government of India has allocated financial support in the form of grant-in-aid for establishing the Atal Tinkering Lab which is an initiative of NITI Aayog. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sonowal said that Atal Tinkering Lab which has the objective to foster curiosity, creativity and imagination among the students will encourage young minds to imbibe scientific temperament. He said that the lab will further empower the students to find innovative solutions to the problems faced by the society. The Chief Minister further said that Assam is a land full of possibilities and prosperities. Considering the potentials of Assam and other North Eastern states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recognized Assam as the new engine of growth. He, therefore, urged the student community to work hard and take the state to greater height. Sonowal also asked the teaching fraternity of Sanskriti The Gurukul to use the lab to help the students imbibe imagination and inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning etc. He also asked the school authority to enable the students of all the government and private schools in the vicinity of Sanskriti The Gurukul to use the facilities of Atal Tinkering Lab. Chief Minister Sonowal on this occasion interacted with the students and witnessed their innovative projects in the lab. Principal of the school Ajanita Hazarika, the secretary of the school Asutosh Agarwal, faculty members, management staff and school students were present on the occasion.
