CM Sarbananda Sonowal hails farmers for promoting organic farming

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal hailed the efforts of progressive farmers of Sonapur Revenue Circle for promoting organic farming in the area by dint of their sheer devotion and diligence. Haricharan Das, Niran Chandra Das and Phanidhar Pathak, the three progressive farmers met Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal here today and narrated their success stories in the field of organic farming. Sonowal lauded the efforts of the farmers in promoting organic farming in the Sonapur area. He also requested them to continue their good work in the field of organic farming to motivate others to follow suit, a press release said. The Chief Minister, while stating Prime Minister Narendra Modis vision of transforming North East into an organic hub of the country, said the efforts of the farmers in practising organic farming will be a source of inspiration to others. The farmers who hail from Hahara village, Bogibari village and Dhopguri village of Sonapur Revenue Circle brought with them some organic vegetables for the Chief Minister. Sonowal thanked the farmers and paid them for the organic produce. He also requested them to continue their good work in the field of organic farming to motivate others to follow suit, a press release said.
