Bodo NDFB leaders receive a warm welcome at LGBI airport

A CORRESPONDENTBORJHAR: Thousands of people from the Bodo community, gathered outside the LGBI airport to welcome the Bodo leaders, who arrived from Delhi on Tuesday after signing the Bodo peace accord on Monday. The people welcomed the leader by performing Bodo traditional dances and songs outside the airport. United Bodo People's Organization's (UBPO) president Mihineswar Basumatary along with National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) leaders, including Gobinda Basumatary, B. Saoraigwra, Dhirendra Boro arrived at around 10am on Tuesday. All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) president said that, “After 35 years, Bodo militant group NDFB's demands and problems have been settled with this peace accord. Arjun Boro, a youth from Garchuk said that people from places like Udalguri, Rangapara, Kajalgaon, Baksa, Morigaon, Sonapur, and Dimoria arrived at the airport at around 6 am to welcome all the delegates. United Bodo Peoples Organizations (UBPO) president Mihineswar Basumatary along with National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) leaders, including Gobinda Basumatary, B. Saoraigwra, Dhirendra Boro arrived at around 10am on Tuesday. All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) president said that, “After 35 years, Bodo militant group NDFBs demands and problems have been settled with this peace accord. It has been done with the help of Assam State and Central government. Now everybody including Bodo and non-Bodo people in the Bodoland Territorial Region can live their life without any problem. The accord will help to develop the communities of the region.” Mihineswar Basumatary said that this is a historic accord and it is a golden chance to solve all the problems of the Bodo community.
