Referring to the famous pilgrimage site of the state, he said that if the population explosion continues then one day the land of Kamakhya temple will also be occupied and even my house will be encroached upon.
Assam`s new Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has given a controversial statement within a month of assuming the chair of CM. He has advised the migrant Muslims to control the population. Sarma has linked it with social hazards and said that problems like land encroachment can be solved if immigrant Muslims pay attention to family planning.
Referring to the famous pilgrimage site of the state, he said that if the population explosion continues then one day the land of Kamakhya temple will also be occupied and even my house will be encroached upon.
He was answering questions related to the anti-encroachment campaign at a press conference held in Guwahati on Thursday.

Assam has already achieved replacement levels of TFR 2.1. National TFR is 2.2. In simple words, theres no population explosion 1/n
Owaisi further said that your government should worry about the skewed sex ratio due to the barbaric practice of sex-selective abortion. It is predicted that in 2036, the sex ratio of Assam will deteriorate and the number of males will increase significantly. There is a need to fight against a fundamentally anti-gender culture.
