Crisis in Nagaland: Naga People's Front to support CM

GUWAHATI: As the fate of the political crisis within Naga People's Front, which rules Nagaland in collaboration with BJP, depends on the court verdict expected on Tuesday, the central party leaders of the NPF on Monday resolved to stand by chief minister Shurhozelie Liezietsu The resolution adopted at an emergency meeting said, "The Party leaders comprising Central Office Bearers and members of all frontals reaffirmed their allegiance and resolved to support Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu, the Party President and the Honourable Chief Minister in this time of crisis. The court while hearing the matter on Monday reserved its verdict till 2 pm of Tuesday.At the NPF meeting Kuzholuzo Nienu, chairman of the ruling NPF-led alliance, Democratic Alliance of Nagaland, exhorted the members in the meeting to study carefully the best case scenario and worst case scenario at this time of situation. "The party's support came for Liezietsu came when the Kohima bench of Gauhati High Court reserved the ruling on Lietzietsu's petition challenging governor PB Acharya' s directive to him to prove his majority on the floor of the house.The court on Friday had in an interim order stayed the governor's deadline for the floor test by July 15.
