Four teams to inspect hospitals in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Four teams have been constituted by Kamrup (Metro) district administration for an inspection drive in private nursing homes and hospitals in the city. These four teams are headed by ADC KC Pegu, Nabadeep Pathak, Gunajit Kashyap and PP Bora respectively," said a press statement. "The team has inspected three hospitals and will complete its inspections by July 21. A total of 130 hospitals in and around the city will be inspected. After the assessment, the reports will be submitted and action will be taken accordingly," said Angamuthu.

This inspection will be carried out under the Clinical Establishment Act."Each team is headed by an additional deputy commissioner, under each of whom officials from joint director health and family welfare, food safety, pollution control board, fire and emergency services, along with drug inspectors will operate," said deputy commissioner M Angamuthu. A total of 130 hospitals in and around the city will be inspected. "The focus will be on the biomedical waste management and emergency provisions. After the assessment, the reports will be submitted and action will be taken accordingly," said Angamuthu."The team has inspected three hospitals and will complete its inspections by July 21.
