Traffic loses control in Hyderabad because of heavy rains

The most affected areas were between the route of Gachibowli to Tolichowki and the traffic movement was slowest here.

The streets of Hyderabad’s main roads were flooded when the heavy rains struck the city. Several vehicles, including pedestrians, were stuck in the traffic amongst all the dirt and filth caused by the rain. Waterlogging on street could be seen everywhere. The most affected areas were between the route of Gachibowli to Tolichowki and the traffic movement was slowest here. While traffic cops were deployed but it turned out to be useless because the heavy rains were worsening the situation.

As per a traffic policeman who was deployed on Madhapur police station stretch and 100 Feet road, traffic movement was very slow due to heavy waterlogging. Madhapur traffic cops were also deployed.

Commuters stuck in these areas took their concerns and anger to social media and were found posting several photos and videos of vehicles floating on road because of the issue.

“There was waterlogging due to heavy rain at various junctions in Bahadurpura, Malakpet, Panjagutta, Goshmahal, Mirchowk, Sultan Bazar, and Saifabad. The traffic cops deployed are helping in clearing the waterlogging.” Said a traffic cop.

The traffic Police team which was deployed at Tolichowki near Reliance Digital, Shaikpet were struggling to open a manhole caps to drain out the rainwater. They used this method to clear the waterlogging.
