Hyderabad: Telangana declares summer vacation for Schools and JR Colleges from April 27, Details here

Telangana Education Minister Sabita Indra Reddy announced summer vacation for schools and junior colleges across the state from tomorrow i.e. 27 April to 31 May.

The Telangana government has announced summer holidays for all schools and colleges in the state. The early summer holidays will start from 27 April and will continue till 31 May. This decision has been taken due to the massive surge in Covid-19 cases in the state.

Telangana Education Minister Sabita Indra Reddy announced summer vacation for schools and junior colleges across the state from tomorrow i.e. 27 April to 31 May. According to the official press release issued by the Department of Education, the Chief Minister decided to grant summer vacation amid the Covid-19 outbreak to educational institutions after meeting with the Chief Secretary of the Government Somesh Kumar and officials from the Education Department.

Monday (April 26) of the current academic year will be considered as the last working day. The Education Minister says that after reviewing the schools and junior colleges, after June 01, the government will take the appropriate decision. Considering the rapid pace of Corona, the government had already cancelled the 10th examinations and passed 5.21 lakh students.

In the same sequence, 53.79 lakh students up to 9th grade have also been promoted to the next classes.All the Regional Joint Directors of School and District Education Officers were informed by the Director of School Education, Syed Omar Jalil on Sunday. He has asked to take the necessary actions in order to close the schools for the summer holidays.

On April 20, the Andhra Pradesh state government announced summer vacation for students of classes 1 to 9. Similarly, the Delhi government has also announced summer vacation in all schools in the national capital, given the COVID-19 situation. The holiday was scheduled from 11 May to 3 June, which has now been rescheduled from 20 April to 9 June.
