Hyderabad Mosque converted into a 40-bed Covid care centre

The premises of Masjid-e-Mohammadi Ahle Hadees, a mosque located in Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad, has been converted into a 40-bed COVID isolation centre.

o deal with the shortage of beds, medical oxygen and essential medicines in the city`s COVID hospitals, a Hyderabad-based NGO has come forward to convert a mosque into a COVID care centre, with mild to moderate corona patients being treated at the mosque.

The premises of Masjid-e-Mohammadi Ahle Hadees, a mosque located in Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad, has been converted into a 40-bed COVID isolation centre. This work was done by the NGO `Helping Hand Foundation` with the help of the Rotary Club of Hyderabad, SEED and USA.

Speaking to ANI, Dr. Mohammad Arif of the Foundation said, "This mosque which has now been converted into a COVID centre, here we are admitting patients with mild and moderate symptoms. Here we are providing them with all the necessary medical treatment. ”

Dr. Mohammad Fareedullaha of the NGO also said that we have taken this decision in view of the Covid-19 situation in the country as many patients are unable to get hospitals beds. He also said that oxygen cylinders and oxygen concentrators are available round the clock in this centre and doctors are also available here to monitor the health status of the patients.

Fareedullaha said that Dr. Shafi, who is watching this project, has treated more than 5,000 COVID patients in the last year and a half. He further said that if the demand increases, then they are ready to increase the number of beds to 65 and above. He also said that if a patient enters a critical health condition, he will immediately be referred to a COVID hospital like Gandhi Hospital or Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (TIMS) in Hyderabad.

Daniel, whose mother is undergoing treatment at the isolation centre, said that the facilities being provided at the centre are very good and all facilities including medicines and oxygen are free. He further said that three times a day, food is also being provided to the patients without any money.
