Telangana cancels class XII board exams, promotes all Class XI students to XII

The state government has decided to cancel the class XII examination for the academic year 2020-21.

The state government has decided to cancel the class XII examination for the academic year 2020-21. The results are to be declared based on the pre-determined objective criteria; however, the evaluation criteria is not yet shared by the board.

Telangana government has decided to promote all the students of class XI to class XII. Class XI exams will not be conducted because of the Covid-19 epidemic. As per the information, the TS Board of Intermediate Education will conduct the Class XI exam year Exam later. The students who had registered will have to appear in the exam. However, at present everyone will be promoted and will be allowed to study in class 12th.

The move came after almost all the states of the country had cancelled their class XII board exams after CBSE. The big boards like Maharashtra and UP had cancelled the class XII board exams earlier.

The Telangana said in its order dated June 14, ``Considering the present pandemic situation prevailing in the State, Government hereby decides to cancel Class XII Intermediate public examination for the academic year 2020-21. Results to be declared on basis of pre-determined objective criteria. Secretary, Board of Intermediate Examination is directed to issue orders for promoting all Class XI students to Class XII".
