Telangana government fixes Covid-19 treatment, test charges for private hospitals

The Telangana government has fixed the maximum price for testing and treatment of COVID-19.

The Telangana government in its order dated 22 June has capped the maximum amount that can be charged by private hospitals and laboratories for testing and treatment of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the order issued by the government on June 22, it has been said that bed charges in private hospitals cannot exceed Rs 4,000 per day in general wards, Rs 7,500 in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) without ventilators and Rs 9,000 with ventilator support. Along with this, the maximum price for PPE kit has also been fixed at Rs 273.

These three categories of treatment include monitoring, CBC, urine test, HIV spot, anti HCV, serum creatinine and other tests. However, this rate of treatment does not apply to the patients who are subscribing to insurance schemes.
