Three girls of a family lost their lives while taking selfies in the Nirmal district of Telangana. The girls drowned in the irrigation tank while trying to take a selfie. This tragic incident took place on Sunday evening in Singangaon village of Tanur Block but it came to light on Monday. The deceased have been identified as Elim Sunita (16), her sister Vaishali (14) and her cousin Anjali (14).
Police said that all three accidentally fell into the lake. According to the information, these girls were trying to take selfies to upload them on social media platforms. According to police inspector Ajay Babu, when the girls did not return home, their parents started a search and lodged a complaint with the police station. On Monday morning, when some villagers saw the dead body floating in the pond, they informed the police. The police have also found a mobile phone.

Sunita and Vaishali, along with their mother Mangalabai and her cousin, spent some time in their agricultural field on Sunday afternoon and took pictures on their mobile phones. Later, the girls went to a nearby tank to take some pictures and suddenly both fell into the tank as the surface where they were positioned was very wet and slippery.
Mangalabai returned home thinking that the girls might have already returned. But when they did not return, the family started looking for them. Sunita and Vaishali`s father Dada Rao filed a police complaint. According to the police, Anjali was a resident of Maharashtra and had come to the village to meet her relatives. The police sent the bodies to the government hospital in Bhainsa town for post-mortem.
