Sainik School Pasighat to start from August

Captain Jothirajan has been deputed by the Sainik School Society of the Ministry of Defence to conduct the entrance examinations, officials informed here Tuesday. The governor also requested deputy chief minister Chowna Mein to enable the transfer of the 100 acres of land for the school site from the department of industry to the department of education at the earliest. ITANAGAR: The Sainik School at Pasighat in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh is all set to start function from August 27 this year.The proposal for its establishment got in-principle approval from defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman during her visit to Itanagar in November last year, along with two other schools, one each in Tawang and Tirap-Changlang-Longding ( TCL ) region.Principal of Sainik School at Goalpara in Assam, Captain Edwin Jothirajan, called on the state governor brig BD Mishra (Retd), who directed the deputy commissioner of the district to render all assistance to Captain Jorthirajan to start the school on the due date. The CM is expected to hold a meeting with all the stakeholders in the matter on June 20.The governor also urged chief secretary Satya Gopal to inform school children through the Deputy Directors of School Education (DDSEs) in the districts, and headmasters of the schools to motivate maximum number of students to apply for the examination to select the first batch of 60 students for the school.
