Govt hands over Tawang student's death case to CBI

ITANAGAR: The state government has handed over the case relating to the disappearance and subsequent death of a student at Tawang last year to the Central Bureau of Investigation ( CBI ).
However, the state government, taking note of the seriousness and sensitive nature of the case, decided to hand over the case to CBI for expediting the investigation .
A case (No 29/2017 u/s 363/302 IPC) was registered at the Tawang police station on September 16 last year.
Subsequently, the case was transferred to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the state police's crime branch (SIT) on October 13, 2017.
Toko Yame, a class XII student of Government Higher Secondary School, Tawang, went missing in mysterious circumstances after a scuffle broke out on September 16 last year between students of his school and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.
