Digital Transformation Award given to eILP Project of Arunachal Pradesh

Our CorrespondentItanagar: The e-Inner Line Permit (eILP) project of Arunachal Pradesh, implemented by the Department of IT & Communications, assisting the domestic visitors in getting the official travel document online, has been conferred with 'Digital Transformation Award 2019' by 'Governance Now' during the 3rd Digital Transformation Summit & Awards held in the national capital on Wednesday. Receiving the award on behalf of the State Government, IT&C Director Neelam Yapin Tana and Joint Director Hano Takka said that this is “a huge motivation” for the IT Department. The eILP project (www.arunachalilp.com), launched by Chief Minister Pema Khandu in 2017, provides for visitors to apply for and obtain the mandatory ILP online from anywhere in the country. The eILP project was earlier awarded with the prestigious 'Outstanding Technology Project for Connecting the Unconnected Award' by Indian Express Group at Goa in August 2017 and also the SKOCH Order-of-Merit Award by Skoch Group in September 2017. Receiving the award on behalf of the State Government, IT&C Director Neelam Yapin Tana and Joint Director Hano Takka said that this is “a huge motivation” for the IT Department. They informed that with the implementation of e-ILP, there has been huge increase in numbers of tourists visiting the state, thereby boosting the tourism scenario and opening up the economy to newer and exciting possibilities. The award were given away by SN Tripathi, Director, Indian Institute of Public Administration and Vinit Goenka, Member, Governing Council of CRIS and Member IT Task Force, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways and Shipping, under End to End Digital Service (G2C) in e-Governance for the most innovative and effective projects which have demonstrated excellent usage of technology for creating maximum impact with respect to demonstrating e-governance. The eILP project (www.arunachalilp.com), launched by Chief Minister Pema Khandu in 2017, provides for visitors to apply for and obtain the mandatory ILP online from anywhere in the country. This system, conceptualized by State Council for IT and e-Governance, allows online submission of required documents, photograph and payment by a visitor or group of visitors. The system is mobile responsive and hence the ILP now issued will be paperless. The eILP project was earlier awarded with the prestigious Outstanding Technology Project for Connecting the Unconnected Award by Indian Express Group at Goa in August 2017 and also the SKOCH Order-of-Merit Award by Skoch Group in September 2017. Governance Now is a multi-media initiative for participatory reportage and analyses related to governance of all institutions and processes that are vital to public life in India, an official release informed here on Thursday.
