Locals in Jaipur flout COVID protocols despite constant rise in cases

The locals in Jaipur were seen thronging the market ahead of Diwali flouting the COVID-19 pandemic protocols. On Wednesday, 2,080 cases of coronavirus were detected in Rajasthan. Out of that, 450 were found in Jaipur.

People were seen thronging the market place ahead of Diwali in Jaipur. The estival of lights around the corner, market has been decked up with lights, lamps. However, it is a matter of concern to see people flouting Covid-19 protocol despite the rising cases. 

India Today visited the famous Johri Bazar in Jaipur`s old city, where thousands had been coming on a daily basis for shopping and other purposes.

Several in the shopping markets and galleries were seen without face masks, not maintaining proper distancing. Large crowds and gatherings conjected the area.

Similar scenes were witnessed in several other market areas of Jaipur, including in Chhoti Chaupad, Nehru Bazaar, MI Road, Tripolia Bazaar, Kishanpole and Bapu Bazaar to name a few.

Rajasthan has been witnessing a rise in the number of Covid-19.

So far, more than 2,17,000 people have been infected by the virus in Rajasthan whereas more than 16,900 cases of Coronavirus are still active in the desert state.

The death toll in Rajasthan is 2,019.

On Wednesday, 2,080 cases of coronavirus were detected in Rajasthan. Out of that, 450 were found in Jaipur - the state capital.
