Ill-management amid the second wave of Covid-19 epidemic has taken hundreds of lives across the country. In a similar incident in Rajasthan`s Barmer, a power cut resulted in the death of 8 patients on Thursday. The oxygen plant in Balotra in the Barmer district of Rajasthan closed on Thursday morning after a power cut at Nahata State Hospital. A family member of a hospitalised Covid-19 patient gave information about the negligence in the hospital through a video message on social media.

While giving the clarification, the hospital administration also said that the electricity went for a few minutes but the oxygen plant was not closed, the hospital administration also accepted the death of 8 patients. The PMO of the hospital, Dr. Balraj Singh Panwar, said that the light went off for a few minutes in the morning, at the time several patients were under oxygen support but the generator was switched on immediately. 33 people were on oxygen support when the electricity went out.
