The split between the supporters of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and the current state leadership, which was earlier limited to a poster war, has now escalated into a verbal spat, where her supporters have openly declared that `Raje` is BJP and BJP is Raje` in Rajasthan. The state leadership has refused to remain silent on the remarks, saying that `no one is bigger than the party` and speaking against the party leadership is against the party and wrong practice.
Rajasthan is witnessing a political turmoil, on one hand, the Congress party is struggling to find a solution for a rift between Gehlot and Pilot camps, on the other, former CM Vasundhara Raje Scindia has come face to face with the party`s central leadership.
Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is keeping silent but her supporters are boiling with rage after her posters were removed from the state party headquarters.
After former MLA Prahlad Gunjal, former minister Bhavani Singh Rajawat also held a press conference in favor of Vasundhara. In the press conference, Rajawat clearly said that the way Modi is for BJP in the country, in the same way, Vasundhara Raje is for BJP in Rajasthan.
These leaders clearly claimed that there is no other face in the state other than Vasundhara Raje as the Chief Minister. The entire party knows that it has been coming to power on the strength of Vasundhara Raje. BJP will not come to power if Vasundhara Raje is not made the chief minister face.
Leader of Opposition Gulabchand Kataria said that we feel that some leaders of our party are conspiring with Congress to cover up the conflict inside the Congress house with the fight inside BJP`s house. Everyone knows that BJP is not an individual based party.
Rajasthan BJP party president Poonia said that the party has some dignity and it follows a constitution, according to which all the members work. Poonia said, "Every person is given a chance to speak on the party`s platform, but saying such things in public forums is against the party`s constitution. The interest of the party is paramount for us. Even though some workers are making such statements for some reason on a personal basis, but it does not come within the limits of the party.
