The world`s third-largest stadium will soon be constructed in Rajasthan`s capital Jaipur.

Rajasthan Cricket Association RCA has acquired the land documents for its proposed world`s third largest cricket stadium. The world`s largest cricket stadium in India is the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, followed by Melbourne Cricket Ground at number two.

This stadium will be built near Chomp village on Delhi Road. The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has handed over the lease of the allotted land for the stadium to the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) on Friday.

RCA President Vaibhav Gehlot told the media that the work of the stadium to be built in about 100 acres will be completed in two and a half to three years. It will be built at a cost of about Rs 650 crore; about Rs 400 crore will be spent in the first phase.

The Rajasthan Cricket Association has also received a letter of grant of 100 crores from the BCCI.

A loan of 100 crores will be taken from the banks and 90 crores will be raised from the corporate box.
