Tribune News ServiceJalandhar, January 10Under the state government’s campaign against tobacco consumption, street plays were staged at Jalokhana and Government High School Dhaliwal in Kapurthala today. District Health Officer Dr Kuljit Singh said tobacco consumption caused the cancer of mouth and lungs. The objective of the plays was to make the masses aware of tobacco consumption’s ill-effects. Dr Kuljit, while speaking about passive smoking, said smoke due to tobacco consumption caused adverse affects. Civil Surgeon Dr Ramesh Kumari Banga said tobacco consumption was harmful for health and it was a need to make people made aware of its harmful effects.
