Anganwari Union to hold protest today

Tribune News ServiceJalandhar, January 16Anganwari Mulazam Union Punjab (CITU) will be holding protest nationwide protest on Wednesday, They have written to the Prime Minister to increase the wages of the workers and helpers posted under Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme. Apart from writing to the Prime Minister, the workers and the members said that they will also be writing and handing over the memorandum to the Chief Minister of Punjab. The members said that the worker gets Rs 3,000 and the helper get an amount of Rs 1500 which is nothing at present times. “Nothing is actually being done for those who does this most important work are getting poor salaries,” said one of the members. They said that the government should give them at least Rs 18,000 a month.

The members of the union said that it is not that this issue and demand they have raised for the first time, but have been raising for a long time, but to no avail. “Nothing is actually being done for those who does this most important work are getting poor salaries,” said one of the members.
