Jalandhar, August 17Local MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary today wrote to Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, raising the matter of sudden stoppage of supply of the CNG in the city. He stated that due to the same, around 1,500 auto-rickshaws plying in the city have come to a halt as they run only on the CNG. He also raised the issue of higher prices of the CNG in the city as compared to other areas. He said in Jalandhar, the drivers had to purchase the CNG at Rs 79 per kg while it costs Rs 65 per kg only in other areas. He urged the minister to immediately intervene in the matter.
