Phagwara, November 11The state government will soon set up a trauma centre in Phagwara to provide medical help to those who sustain injuries in road mishaps. This was announced by Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu while addressing mediapersons after laying the foundation stone of 30-bed Mother and Child Healthcare Centre today. He said 46 lakh families had been covered under the Sarbat Bima Yojana in 611 hospitals of the state. The minister appealed to chemists to provide medicines on cheaper rates to people. Local MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, former minister Joginder Singh Maan and Kapurthala Civil Surgeon Jasmeet Bawa and Senior Medical Officer Kamal Kishore addressed the gathering.
