Hoshiarpur ranks second in providing employment

Hoshiarpur, November 18During the mega employment fairs in September, Hoshiarpur has secured the second place in the state, achieving 36.74 per cent more than the projected target of providing employment. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Isha Kalia was honoured by the Director, Employment Generation and Training Department, for the feat. As a result, more and more youth got employment opportunities in the district. She said career counseling, placement camps and employment fairs would continue. Kalia said that in this series on November 21, an employment fair would be organised at SPN College, Mukerian, from 10 am to 4 pm.

The DC, while encouraging the District Employment and Business Bureau team, said a lot of hard work was done by the department to show right direction to the youth and frequent career counseling as well as placement camps were also held. As a result, more and more youth got employment opportunities in the district. She said career counseling, placement camps and employment fairs would continue. Kalia said that in this series on November 21, an employment fair would be organised at SPN College, Mukerian, from 10 am to 4 pm. Even those who want to go for self-employment by taking loan can also take part in the fair.— OC
