King Khan says that Jalandhar has another connect to his film – Nooran sisters who have sung the song ‘Butterfly’. There is yet another connect that the film has with Jalandhar, says Shah Rukh as he keeps sipping his black coffee relaxing on a sofa of Hotel Ramada here. I had heard them in ‘Highway’ and wanted them to sing this special song of the film. “There is a song ‘Raula pe jana’ which has been sung by Diljit Dosanjh, who again is connected with this region.

‘Overhead water tanks in Nurmahal fascinated me’ Deepkamal Kaur Jalandhar, July 13 Having had three days’ of stay at Nurmahal in Jalandhar for his upcoming film “When Harry met Sejal”, Shah Rukh Khan today, on its promotion trail, said that the designer overhead tanks atop all houses really fascinated him. “I have toured around so much but found that the tanks in the shape of aeroplanes and pigeons etc are unique to Jalandhar. During those three days in rural Punjab, I still remember how I enjoyed spotting tanks of different shapes as my car went around the internal lanes of the countryside,” said the Bollywood star. King Khan says that Jalandhar has another connect to his film – Nooran sisters who have sung the song ‘Butterfly’. “I really love the voice of these girls. I had heard them in ‘Highway’ and wanted them to sing this special song of the film. I shared this with Imtiaz and he immediately got it done having worked with them earlier. I really like the rawness in their singing. It is different from the modern day kind of polished singing. They sing in qawaali style, which somehow has a resemblance with legendary singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan,” he said. There is yet another connect that the film has with Jalandhar, says Shah Rukh as he keeps sipping his black coffee relaxing on a sofa of Hotel Ramada here. “There is a song ‘Raula pe jana’ which has been sung by Diljit Dosanjh, who again is connected with this region. We had earlier thought of keeping the title of the film after this song, but it somehow was not received that well,” he said, adding that “Ring” as the move was earlier called was only its original working title. Shah Rukh is optimistic that the film being a love story would do good business, but admits, “It wont do as well as ‘Dangal’. Having worked for 25 years in this industry, I know the category of the film and I can somehow predict success to some extent”. The actor says that having being brought up in Delhi and having Punjabi speaking in-laws, he is well versed with the language. “But I wanted to use some rustic words with a typical accent to give a more native feel in the film. So, I took small training too by getting these words recorded in my phone and hearing them again and again. I really enjoyed one dialogue ‘Tu amb lene hai’, which you will find in this film,” he laughs as he shares.
