SER introduces special Shravani Mela train for devotees from Tatanagar

JAMSHEDPUR: To accommodate the heavy rush of the Lord Shiva devotees from Kolhan who will be travelling to the holy town Deogarh to offer prayers during the holy month of Shravan commencing on July 23, the South Eastern Railway (SER) has introduced Shravani Mela special from Tatanagar to Jasidih.The 14-coach train, with a composition of two seating and luggage rake (SLR) coaches and 12 general seating rakes (GSR), which will run five days a week, will start its journey from Tatanagar on July 27 and for the return journey it will leave Jasidih on July 28.From Tatanagar, the special train (no. 08184) will leave Jasdih at 11.10 am and reach Tatanagar at 5.30 pm in the evening on the same day.The train will stop at Adityapur, Chandil, Purulia , Anara, Joychandi Pahar, Burnpur, Asansol, Chitranjan and Madhupur stations, among the 12 declared halts, while covering a distance of 276 km in seven-and-a-half hours.The train from Tatanagar will run on all weekdays expect Tuesday and Friday and in the return direction it will not ply on Wednesday and Saturday.The Shravani special from Tatanagar will be available till August 25 and the returning one will be operational till August 26.The Chotanagpur Passengers Association (CPA) said that the increasing rush of pilgrims on the regular trains was the reason for the introduction of the special train.It may be mentioned that scores of devotees from different parts of the three Kolhan districts travel to Deogarh to offer prayers at Baidyanath Dham temple.
