Will focus on devpt of LWE-hit villages: CM Raghubar Das

Another 12.90-km road worth Rs 26.93 crore will be constructed from Bansda to Pathra Path. This road will connect 10 villages from Chakulia to Baharagora. He also inaugurated two science centres , one each in Astakoshi Plus Two High Cchool in Dumaria and Milanbeethi Plus Two School in Gurabandha. Road connectivity is a vital instrument of the comprehensive plan to usher in growth and prosperity in backward villages, the chief minister said.The five road projects includes building a 32.80-km-long road from Dumaria to Kovali benefiting 29 villages at an estimated cost of Rs 55.50 crore. The fifth road will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 17.68 crore to connect the 6.50km-long Kovali and Baharagora near the Odisha border.The only overbridge project Das laid foundation will be constructed over Subernarekha river at a cost of Rs 11.98 crore.

JAMSHEDPUR: Chief minister Raghubar Das on Sunday said his government is committed to integrate remote villages hit by Left-wing extremist (LWE) with the urban centers through a network of roads for their speedy development.Addressing a gathering at the foundation laying ceremony of one overbridge and five new road projects worth Rs 176.84 crore in total in Maoist-hit Dumaria block, Das said a comprehensive development plan for rural areas is the thrust of his government's village-oriented schemes. Road connectivity is a vital instrument of the comprehensive plan to usher in growth and prosperity in backward villages, the chief minister said.The five road projects includes building a 32.80-km-long road from Dumaria to Kovali benefiting 29 villages at an estimated cost of Rs 55.50 crore. Another 12.90-km road worth Rs 26.93 crore will be constructed from Bansda to Pathra Path. This road will connect 10 villages from Chakulia to Baharagora. A third road of 33km length will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 51.98 crore connecting Gurabandha and Jiyan while the fourth project worth Rs 12.08 crore will Baharagora market to Badsol in Baharagora, a distance of 4.6 km. The fifth road will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 17.68 crore to connect the 6.50km-long Kovali and Baharagora near the Odisha border.The only overbridge project Das laid foundation will be constructed over Subernarekha river at a cost of Rs 11.98 crore. Once completed, the 344.40-m-long overbridge in the Dhalbhum-Bhalki area of Ghatshila sub-division will directly connect Dhalbhumgarh and Gurabandha blocks.Das also inaugurated smart classes in 21 government intermediate schools, including two residential schools located in the remote Lakhaidih village. He also inaugurated two science centres , one each in Astakoshi Plus Two High Cchool in Dumaria and Milanbeethi Plus Two School in Gurabandha. The total estimated cost of the centres, the objective of which is to motivate and promote scientific temperament among rural students, is Rs 17 lakh.Later, Das addressed a 'Jan Chaupal' at Baghabandhi Haat ground in Dumaria, and said, "Unlike previous government, we are sincerely working for the poor and the underprivileged."
