JAMSHEDPUR: Seraikela-Kharswan deputy commissioner Chhavi Ranjan on Monday said the under construction Domuhani bridge will be completed by the end of December this year. Once the bridge gets operational the picnickers flow to the two popular spots will increase in the coming picnic season," Vipul Singh, a tour operator, said. After reviewing the progress report of the bridge on Monday, he added, "I have instructed the project executing agency to pace up the land acquisition work for converting the two-lane approach road to four-lane road and will get it completed by the end of this year. "Kanderbera and Chandil dam are two important picnic spots in Seraikela. "The over bridge project that is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 45 crore was initially scheduled to be completed by December last year, but due to the issues relating to land acquisition for the construction of the approach road connecting the bridge, work got delayed by a year.Ranjan said the requirement of land for the approach road is less than 30 decimal hence there will not be much trouble in acquiring the land. The upcoming bridge linking Jamshedpur 's Sonari to Dobo in Chandil (Seraikela-Kharswan) will reduce travel distance of 30km for people who presently use the dilapidated Ranchi-Jamshedpur National Highway (NH33) to travel on either direction. The construction work, of the 252m long four-lane bridge with two carriageways, each with 8.5m width and pedestrians pathway of 1.5m on each side of the flanks, was commenced in March, 2016.A Kolkata-based private construction company M/s Royal Infratech Private Limited is executing the project on engineering, procurement and construction mode.Notably, chief minister Raghubar Das, had asked the adjoining district administration officials on Sunday to complete the bridge work by December.
