JAMSHEDPUR: Tata Main Hospital (TMH) received a series of resignations from its senior doctors following the hospital management 's decision to ban private practice of its staff doctors.In the last one week, ever since TMH Prime, an extension of its out patient department (OPD) and other specialist services during evening hours, began on April 15, seven senior doctors have put in their papers apparently in disagreement with the ban imposed on private practice."The three hours between 6:30pm to 9:30pm is prime time for senior physicians who attend to patients at their clinics. A section of the doctors are opposing the ban on private practice," a senior doctor at TMH said.According to sources, a few more doctors are likely to put in their papers if there is no immediate intervention from the management to check the trend.However, TMH management said it has already worked out an agreement to pay the doctors in lieu of their services during TMH Prime.
