JAMSHEDPUR: Braving early morning chill hundreds of denizens thronged the Bistupur main road here on Sunday for a host of entertainment activities at the Jam@Street.The three-hour event, hosted by the Tata Steel and Jusco as part of the ongoing Jamshedpur Winter Festival 2017, witnessed a huge footfall while many organisations put up stalls alongside the streets.Sunday's highlight was the visit by the Jamshedpur Football Club (JFC) team that will play its debut match at the Indian Super League (ISL) this year.Jusco MD Ashish Mathur, Tata Steel VP (corporate services) Sunil Bhaskaran joined the crowd to cheer for the JFC team. He introduced the home team to the crowd and appealed to the people to watch live ISL matches, some of which are likely to be held at the JRD Tata Sports Complex ground later this month.An awareness session, aimed at enlightening the people on the importance of cleanliness, was held at the event. Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) special officer Sanjay Kumar Pandey urged the denizens to download the Swachhta App designed by the district administration on their smart phones and use it to share short videos and messages if they find garbage pile or littering anywhere in the city."It excites me to watch young people dancing to tune of music in the early morning hours," said a 75-year-old Help Cross Society volunteer, N S Walia, who organised a health camp at the event.Roadside stalls selling mouth-watering dishes dotted the stretch of the road from Bistupur roundabout to the Traffic signal crossing.
