JODHPUR: The state Congress on Thursday announced its two-day ‘Mera Booth, Mera Gaurav’ campaign in Jodhpur that will be held in presence of former chief minister Ashok Gehlot and AICC general secretary in-charge Avinash Pande. In Jodhpur, the BJP has already begun its drive similar to the Congress campaign that is going to unfold now. Jodhpur currently has three city constituencies- Jodhpur City, Soorsagar and Sardarpura, of which Sardarpura is held by Gehlot while two others by the BJP. In the two-day programme, which is aimed at apprising people of the inefficiency of state BJP government, especially in Jodhpur, the opposition party will be covering all three city constituencies of Jodhpur. BJP has been holding booth strengthening programmes on regular basis for the past six months and its leaders and ministers, apart from chief minister Vasundhra Raje, have emphasized on the strategy of strengthening booths and sensitizing party workers at booth level.

JODHPUR: The state Congress on Thursday announced its two-day ‘Mera Booth, Mera Gaurav’ campaign in Jodhpur that will be held in presence of former chief minister Ashok Gehlot and AICC general secretary in-charge Avinash Pande. In the two-day programme, which is aimed at apprising people of the inefficiency of state BJP government, especially in Jodhpur, the opposition party will be covering all three city constituencies of Jodhpur. Heavily relying on the anti-incumbency factor, the Congress has now decided to attack BJP on the basis of its report card of four-and-a-half year rule.“During the entire tenure of BJP, Jodhpur, which is the second largest and a very important city of the state, has shamefully been ignored by stalling the developmental works that it deserved,” said Saeed Ansari, the Congress’ Jodhpur president. Nipping the buzz of rift in the local party unit, Ansari said that this rumour has been spread by the BJP and claimed that the entire party in Jodhpur was united and would begin this campaign with energy and determination. In Jodhpur, the BJP has already begun its drive similar to the Congress campaign that is going to unfold now. BJP has been holding booth strengthening programmes on regular basis for the past six months and its leaders and ministers, apart from chief minister Vasundhra Raje, have emphasized on the strategy of strengthening booths and sensitizing party workers at booth level. While the BJP has gone on capitalizing on the developmental works done by the government in this stint, the Congress, on the contrary, has announced this program to use as a platform to capitalize on the failure of the state government in fulfilling its promises made to the people despite the historic victory. Jodhpur currently has three city constituencies- Jodhpur City, Soorsagar and Sardarpura, of which Sardarpura is held by Gehlot while two others by the BJP.
