KOLKATA: A number of clashes, most after the Holi celebrations got over, were reported on Thursday. Cops, though, claimed that timely intervention stopped them from turning serious.In Tangra, two groups came to blows around 4pm after a vehicle reportedly hit a local. The victim escaped with minor injuries. The locals, however, claimed the attack was a political ploy and no accident took place. According to the complaint filed by Bapi Saha, his vehicle — a Tata Ace — and a car were damaged by a mob . The group alleged Saha had been speeding when he hit a local. Saha also said he was slapped. The car (in pic) belongs to leather trader Jaideb Daswho was away in Digha when the incident happened. “I am rushing home, but have requested my neighbours to approach police on my behalf,” Das told TOI.In the slum area near Dihi Sreerampore Road, local rowdies Sushanta (18) and Faiyaz (19) fled after lobbing crude bombs at an under-construction building around 6pm, cops said. Local Md Samad received splinter injuries and had to be admitted to CNMCH.On Friday around 6pm, two groups of slum dwellers clashed with each other on the eastern slope of Bondel Gate. Clashes were also reported from Watgunge and Jamnunanagar.
