KOLKATA: A three-year-old girl died after falling off a moving train near Khardah station on Saturday morning. She was travelling with her parents and uncle from Bihar to Kolkata on Anand Vihar Express.The child, Rani Parveen, was taken to College of Medicine & Sagore Dutta Hospital with multiple injuries and later, shifted to SSKM Hospital, where she died.According to the police, the family was from Bihar but they stayed on Chittaranjan Avenue in Kolkata. While travelling to Kolkata, the family did not have any reservation and they made an arrangement to sit in the passage near the entrance of a compartment, police said. "The child's father Md Jamir and mother had fallen asleep and her uncle was in the toilet. As the train slowed down near Khardah station, Parveen tried to go to the toilet by herself and fell through the open door," an officer said.People at the station raised an alarm and the train was stopped. Doctors said she sustained serious injuries to her head and her legs and hands were broken. An unnatural death case was registered by the Bhowanipore police.
