Kolkata: Portions of three buildings collapse, one injured

KOLKATA: A portion of the top floor of a three storeyed dilapidated building in Sovabazar collapsed and fell on a parked car on Sunday morning around 8am. No casualities have been reported.

Later in the day, a portion of balcony on the 4th floor of a five storeyed old dilapidated Dharamshala at JM Avenue collapsed and a pedestrian, Binde Muthia (22), a labourer of Muchibazar , was hit by the rubble and received injury on head and left leg. He was admitted at the RG Kar hospital.

Also on Sunday morning around 5am, a first floor balcony of a three-story old dilapidated building at Bidhan Sarani in Shyambazar also collapsed. No report of any entrapment or injury was however reported as KMC personnel worked till late in the afternoon to remove the debris.
