25 year old Bagdogra soldier martyred in Naushera Sector

Darjeeling: Naik Subash Thapa was martyred in the Naushera Sector, Rajouri,in Jammu on Saturday morning. Thapa hailed from Upper Bagdogra in the Darjeeling district. 25-year-old Naik Subash Thapa had joined the Army eight years ago. His family includes his father Tek Bahadur Thapa, mother Padma Thapa and elder brother Pradeep Thapa. His mother is in a state of shock and has been admitted to the Army hospital in Bagdogra.

Darjeeling: Naik Subash Thapa was martyred in the Naushera Sector, Rajouri, in Jammu on Saturday morning. Thapa hailed from Upper Bagdogra in the Darjeeling district. Thapa from the 3/5 Gorkha Rifles was deployed with the 33 Rashtriya Rifles. According to Army sources, he was hit in the Line of Control by a splinter in the wee hours of Saturday. He was then rushed to the Command Hospital in Udhampur by helicopter. However, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. 25-year-old Naik Subash Thapa had joined the Army eight years ago. He was a resident of Panighata Road, Bagdogar, Siliguri in the Darjeeling district. His family includes his father Tek Bahadur Thapa, mother Padma Thapa and elder brother Pradeep Thapa. His mother is in a state of shock and has been admitted to the Army hospital in Bagdogra. The mortal remains of the martyr are scheduled to arrive at Bagdogra Airport at 2:25 pm on Sunday by Indigo flight (6E 5033) from Delhi. With the news of his supreme sacrifice, a shadow of grief has descended on the locality where Thapa used to live. Local residents also held a candlelight vigil in the evening.
