Kolkata: Three persons were arrested by officers of Pragati Maidan police station for allegedly passing lewd comments on a woman late on Tuesday night. In a separate incident, another person was arrested in Regent Park police station for allegedly stalking, passing lewd comments and threatening a woman. According to sources, on Tuesday night, while the complainant was singing at the Larica bar, three youths identified as Bishu Singh of Moulali, Chandan Srivastav of Beliaghata and Biswajit Dey of Kankurgachi were consuming alcohol. The crooner said despite she remained indifferent, the accused persons kept on passing lewd comments. It is also alleged that they were asking the womans number. Bouncers also reportedly warned them but did not throw them out as the trio was old customers. After bouncers warned them, a few moments later, they again started misbehaving with the woman. This time, Srivastav allegedly offered her money and asked her to entertain them privately. The crooner protested and sought help from the bar authority. After the bouncers detained the trio, Pragati Maidan police station was informed. Later, the woman lodged a complaint and the trio was arrested. A few days ago, the police raided Larica bar and prosecuted the authority for running it beyond permissible time. The police are also checking whether the bar had obtained permission for extension of time from the Excise department. In a separate incident, a person was arrested by officers of Regent Park police station for allegedly passing lewd comments, stalking and threatening a woman. It is alleged that the accused identified as Dipak Balmiki of Purba Putiyari was harassing a woman, who is a resident of Regent Park, for the past few years. On Wednesday, the woman lodged a complaint against Balmiki and informed that for quite a long time, he was harassing her. Balmiki even threatened her on phone and social media.
