Kolkata: Bengal state Assembly has been adjourned till December 6 as there is no business in the House for the next two days. In the concluding session on Tuesday, Speaker Biman Banerjee said some Bills which have been sent to Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar for his assent have not come to the Assembly yet. As a result, the Speaker had to adjourn the House. It was learnt that a Bill relating to SC/ST has not come to the Assembly as the Governor is yet to assent the Bill. The Governor House in its press statement, however, claimed that there is no delay whatsoever by the Governor. "There has been no delay in handling the legislative work in the Raj Bhavan. Highest priority is accorded. However, all issues are thoroughly gone into after due briefing from the Department. It has been gathered from media projections that the West Bengal State Legislative Assembly has come to be adjourned for two days as the Bills which were scheduled to be placed could not receive the nod of the Governor according to the Speaker of the WBLA Biman Banerjee," reads the press statement of the Governor House. Meanwhile, TMCS Tapan Deb Sinha who won the Kaliaganj seat, Karimpur candidate Bimalendu Sinha Roy and Kharagpur Sadars Pradip Sarkar swore in as MLAs in the Assembly on Tuesday.
