This is going to discourage promoters investors producers to put in their money in Our industry. #shootshouldnotstop https://t.co/xj0DDN5mnZ — Jeet (@jeet30) 1498110200000 KOLKATA: The film shooting row in UK over 'Chalbaaz' took a nasty turn on Thursday morning with technicians refusing to go to the shooting location. On Thursday morning, actors Subhashree Ganguly and Shakib Khan were supposed to begin shooting in Torquay - the birthplace of writer Agatha Christie - to begin shooting for Joydeep Mukherjee 's Bengali film According to the producer, the technicians even refused to have breakfast that was served to them at the location. Last-minute alternative arrangements for breakfast had to be made by the catering unit in the parking area of the hotel in Plymouth that is an hour's drive from the shooting location.Actor Jeet was quick to take to Twitter to point at how this fiasco is creating a very negative image for Tollywood in front of investors. After speaking to producer Himanshu Dhanuka, Jeet tweeted saying: "This is going to discourage promoters investors producers to put in their money in Our industry. #shootshouldnotstop."Subhashree also tweeted saying:"This is so bad for our industry..."Incidentally, Dhanuka had posted a video last night where all the technicians had admitted that they the Federation had asked them not to shoot for this film. Reacting to this video, Dev tweeted: "Thts unfair....there is always a better to solve a issue..m with u on this."Meanwhile, the director of the film -Joydeep Mukherjee- is at his wit's end. Despite being a member of the Federation, he tweeted saying: "For the first time in my life....I don't know what to do? How long we tolerate this? Is it good for our industry?"Actor Ankush tweeted saying: "A request to d federation.strict rules can be set later also..first let us be together and make it a 100cr industry..Producer comes first..".Dhanuka, on his part, said, "I have begun counting my losses. Already three hours of shooting time has been lost. That is an effective loss of Rs 2 lakh. Krishna Daga and Nitesh Sharma - the chairman and deputy chairman of Eastern India Motion Pictures Association respectively - have made it clear that there is no MOU stating 19 technicians have to be taken abroad for shooting. The Federation authorities are abusing their positions of power and giving Bengal a bad name."He also pointed out that three technicians, who had signed on contracts and come to London on Wednesday, have also refused to work."This took the count of technicians to 19. If people don't honour contracts, how can we work professionally in any way? This isn't only about me. If this is allowed, others can also blackmail producers and just stall work midway. This crisis is bigger than what the Bengali film industry is facing due to GST," Dhanuka said.
