5.5 tonnes of polybags seized from transporters

PPCB chief engineer Pardeep Gupta said premises of those transport companies were raided which were suspected to be importing consignments of plastic carry bags from other states .tnn LUDHIANA: The Punjab Pollution Control Board conducted raids on the transport companies in Ludhiana who were importing consignments of recycled plastic carry bags from other states.During raids, the teams of PPCB and MC officials found consignments of about 5.5 tonnes of plastic carry bags which were about to be supplied in the city. The municipal authorities confiscated these consignments at the spot and further action in the matter shall be taken as per law against the defaulters.
