She is weighing options between AIIMS and other medical institutes, including Maulana Azad Institute of Delhi, as she has also secured Rank 604 in NEET. His father Rakesh Kumar, who is into the drug-manufacturing business, has a PhD in genetics whereas grandfather Krishan Kumar has a PhD in chemistry. Himanshu Kumar, who has secured All-India Rank 198, was elated. Her father Rohit Gupta is a businessman and mother Shikha Gupta a home maker.

City youths crack AIIMS entrance Ludhiana, June 18 These youths were a step closer to their aim of becoming doctors after AIIMS MBBS entrance examination results were declared on Monday evening. Himanshu Kumar, who has secured All-India Rank 198, was elated. But he is juggling between options, because he has also made it to the Indian Institute of Science, securing Rank 239, under Kishore Vigyanik Protsahan Yojana. A student of KVM, Civil Lines, he has secured 93 per cent marks in Class XII. He took coaching from teachers while preparing for the exam. Though he wanted to become a doctor as a child also, his cousins becoming doctors triggered his desire to emulate them. He can either go for MBBS, for which he prefers AIIMS Rishikesh, or pursue BSc at the IISc and then do PhD, like his father and grandfather. His father Rakesh Kumar, who is into the drug-manufacturing business, has a PhD in genetics whereas grandfather Krishan Kumar has a PhD in chemistry. Himanshu studied for six hours for five days and took online tests for two days a week. He likes playing basketball. Yashika Gupta, a Delhi Public School student, has secured All India Rank 258. She, too, has wanted to put a stethoscope on her shoulders since childhood. She wants to make it to AIIMS Rishikesh or Jodhpur. She has secured 97.2 per cent marks in Class XII. Her father Rohit Gupta is a businessman and mother Shikha Gupta a home maker. She studied for two-three hours a day. She loves reading, listening to music and watching television shows. Another student, Greta Bhakoo of DAV BRS Nagar, has secured All India Rank 490. She is weighing options between AIIMS and other medical institutes, including Maulana Azad Institute of Delhi, as she has also secured Rank 604 in NEET.
