Now, let Rana and Sherowalia tell people how many cases were registered or what action was taken against peddlers who have been operating from specific villages or urban localities in Kapurthala,” he said.Earlier, while Rana had mentioned names of Lattianwali and Toti for being hub of drugs on Saturday, Sherowalia in an anti-drug rally at Seechewal village said he had mentioned these two villages to the Punjab chief minister. He had said that drugs were flowing from these two places in his constituency too. However, Cheema on Monday mentioned the names of Punnian Redwaan, Baupur and Malsian in Shahkot area and localities Mehtabgarh, Ucha Dhorr, Dhamm Buttan and Kala Sanghia as hubs of drug peddling. “I never interfered in police action against peddlers but let the two MLAs explain how many cases have been registered against the peddlers from these well-known hubs of drug peddling,” he said.He said due to stringent action against drug peddling, Sultanpur Lodhi police station was declared best in the state around a month ago.MLA Rana had specifically named former Sultanpur Lodhi SHO Sarabjeet Singh, saying that he had handed over at least five complaints in the CM’s office against him but no action was taken for 15 months even as issue was in notice of the Punjab DGP. After this, the SHO was sent to police lines.
