LUDHIANA: Ten days after robbers killed a woman in Pandori village of Mullanpur, police on Tuesday claimed to have solved the case with the arrest of five.While Sukhmander Singh Goli of Pandori village planned the robbery, his associates Tarsem Lal, Baljit Singh, Rajvir Bunty and Sandeep Singh, all residents of Moga, helped him execute it.On the night of July 7, the accused had murdered Sangeeta Devi, wife of Sudhir Kumar, and injured her mother-in-law Ramkali and domestic help Vinod Kumar. Sudhir, a fish farm employee, was in Bihar on the day of the incident.Ludhiana (rural) senior superintendent of police Varinder Singh Brar said, “Sukhmander hatched the robbery plan and guided his associates to carry it out. He did a recce before carrying out the crime.Dakha police registered a case under sections 380 (theft in dwelling house, etc), 459 (grievous hurt caused while committing lurking house trespass or house-breaking) and 460 (all persons jointly concerned in lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night punishable where death or grievous hurt caused by one of them) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
