The decision was taken after a meeting between deputy commissioner Pardeep Agrawal and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) representatives.The MC was supposed to float tenders for 12 parking sites. The court had directed to organise parking in service lane which was earlier used by the owners of complexes and malls. People will no longer have to pay anything for parking vehicles on this road. LUDHIANA: In a move to solve traffic congestion on the Ferozepur Road in view of the ongoing elevated road project, the civic officials have decided not to allot parking sites on the service lane running along the road, thus paving the way for wider lanes and smooth traffic flow. With the passage of vehicles and parked vehicles of visitors going to malls, the service lane used to get jam-packed during peak hours.
