LUDHIANA: Four miscreants posing as passengers carjacked an Ola cab driver in the wee hours of Monday. The accused took the cab, without online booking, from Ludhiana railway station to Sahnewal . When the car reached near village Jogyana, the accused threatened the cab driver with a weapon and threw him out of the car. While fleeing, they also snatched his both mobiles and Rs 500 in cash and escaped with car.Driver Kuldeep Kumar of village Mangli Neechi walked for about three kilometers where he found a police checkpoint. The victim narrated the whole incident to the cops who further put an alert on wireless.Kuldeep Kumar said that he drives Ola cab Tata Indica PB 01A 6040. On Sunday midnight, he was standing outside Ludhiana railway station when four men approached him. They asked to take the cab to Sahnewal.The driver asked to book cab through mobile application, but the accused managed to convince him to take them to Sahnewal without online booking.Kuldeep narrated, "When we reached near village Jogyana, the accused sitting on the front seat brandished a sharp-edged weapon. Meanwhile, another accused sitting on the back seat put a revolver on his back and asked him to go out of the car."As soon as the driver alighted form the car, the accused snatched his mobiles and escaped form there.According to Sahnewal police, the car has been traced from Rajpura and a team has reached there. Meanwhile, an FIR has been lodged.
