Rana was held on July 31 PATIALA/AMBALA: Police on Wednesday arrested Varinder Rana, a member of the Bhupi Rana gang, for his involvement in the murder of a JBT teacher in Naraingarh.On July 8, Badagaon village sarpanch’s husband Session Judge, alias Master, was murdered at Bakarpur village while he was on his way to a government school in Ganauli. Eight bullets were pumped into him. Old rivalry was cited to be the reason behind the killing.SSP M S Sidhu said Varinder is the brother of Kuldeep Rana, an active member of the Bhupi Rana gang. He said Haryana police shared some information on the basis of which Sadar police raided a few hideouts of the accused in Patiala and arrested him. He said the accused was later handed over to the CIA staff of Ambala police after completing legal formalities.Naraingarh DSP Amit Bhatia said Varinder was the main conspirator in the murder case.On July 14, one more accused Abhishek of Bihta village in the Saha block of the district, was arrested for having provided shelter to the accused after they had killed the teacher. On July 31, the Panchkula crime branch in a joint operation with Ambala team arrested Bhupi Rana along with Kuldeep Rana of Badagaon in Ambala and their accomplice Gaurav, alias Roda, of Barwala from near the dumping ground in Sector 23 of Panchkula.
